![]() Thanks so much now I get the song and the lyrics. I even tried to learn it by writing down what the lyrics sounds like, though I don't know any German. I love this song since watching The Battle of the Bulge 10 years ago. It was one of those things that I must and will learn to sing. I asked by son to find it on the internet which he said he could not find, that's what I get for asking a teenager when I should have done it myself. Before he passed on I wanted to learn this song and sing it with him. when I played the movie in father's presence it brought tears to his eyes. Today is the 1st anniversary of my father's death born in Sliesia Germany he came to the states in "52" When the movie came out in the late 60's I remember how impressed the my parents were my the sound effects in the movie theater. ![]() You remember the scene with the little kid at the concentration camp? I think (and I could be quite wrong) that the same music box song was used in the earlier part of Payback (when Mel Brooks finds his wife's stash of heroine in the music box). Unrelated to this movie, though, I am trying to figure out what the song is that was featured in the music box in The Big Red One. It makes you feel like you're one of the gang. ![]() I've heard another version somewhere on Youtube (which I'm actually hunting for now) that is more of a folksy sing-along and it is even better. ![]()
